Popular Questions

When to Book: We recommend 7-14 months and when the bride is ready to commit to ordering their dress, or if you LOVE one of our particular designers, it could be great to attend one of their Trunk Shows. Please note, most dresses are 5-6 month ordering time + alterations on top. 

 

We do not advise brides to 'get an idea' too early, as this can have the reverse effect. Brides and guests may lose momentum, and styles change so quickly. It also takes away slots for brides who are actually looking for their gown. It's more special when a bride is hoping to say 'Yes' too. 

How Many Guests May I Bring?: Ideally 2 of your closest family/friends who have your best interest at heart. We can accommodate 3 if notified in advance. For any further guests (4 and onwards), we charge a booking fee of £10 per extra guest. *Any fee's are refundable if a brand new dress is ordered. Fee is not refundable on sale dresses (valid for new orders only)

What Should I Wear? We recommend nude, seamless underwear but this is entirely optional (just go with what you feel most comfy in)

Things To Note - Please attend with no make-up or fake tan on as this can damage the gowns and we may ask you to reschedule. Shoes are not allowed in the dresses due to hazards, but we have a fab box for you to stand on to give you an idea.

Can I Just Turn Up? No sorry! Due to the expense of our products and the preparation involved for each appointment, we require an advance booking only. If you just wished to have a look to see if you like our styles, please book a 'browsing slot'. If you wish to come in last-minute and want to check if we can help, please feel free to email us on info@evolvedbridal.co.uk

May I Bring Children To My Appointment? You are welcome to bring children, but we highly recommend that young children of toddler age may not be suitable, as they can get bored very easily, and may struggle to to be seated for one and a half hours. It may be worth considering a guest taking them out for lunch and coming back nearer the end of the appointment if that helps.

Please be aware, we have no access for buggies and it would be left outside at owners own risk, so we recommend buggies are left in your secure vehicle.

Any damage caused to our gowns and furnishings as a result of children not being carefully supervised or adults acting extremely neglectfully, will be charged to the person who booked the appointment and maybe be asked to leave under extreme circumstances. This is thankfully very rare, but If you would like some advice or guidance on this, please feel free to reach out.

Price Range: Made to Order - (New Dress) typically £1500 - £2600. The average is £1700-£2300. We require a 50% deposit with the remainder payable 5-6 months later once the gown arrives. Outlet (Sample Sale) Dresses range on average from £700-£1300 though some maybe slightly more or less. All Sale wedding dresses require full payment and collection. We do not accept holding deposits or hold the dress for brides. All sales are final (non-refundable and non-exchangeable)

Sample Sizes?: Sizes 8-14. We currently do not have a plus-size range unfortunately. 

What Dresses Do You Have? The majority of our dresses are designed for a cool, alternative vibe. If you are drawn to elegant ballgowns, big floral alines, fishtails with huge trains and 'pretty' traditional styles, we may not be the right place for you, as there are many local bridal shops that are perfectly catering for those designers & styles. We also do not currently offer separates or tea-lengths. 

 

We currently do not show our portfolio of wedding dresses online due to a quick changeover but you can click the designers @ links to give you an idea or visit our Instagram/Facebook. Please be aware bridal shops do not have all the dresses by each designer (just a selection). If there is a particular dress a Designer has, or if you are travelling to us for that specific style, please check with us first and we will let you know if we have/still have the sample to try-on, or if it's possible for us to ship that style in specifically for your appointment (loan sample fee's may apply)

Last Minute Brides - Most of our Designers offer either rush orders (fees apply) or dresses available immediately in stock. We may possibly be able to sell you the sample too, if it's easily replaceable for us. It's also definitely worth having a browse through our outlet room too, as they are available to take home the same day.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Will I Need Alterations?: When we order a dress on behalf of a bride, it is in a standard size example UK12. It is not custom measurements. Therefore, the dress will 95% of the time require alterations once it has arrived. Common alterations include a hem lift (length of the dress), strap lifts, nips & tucks, bra cups, bustle and sometimes more depending on the dress.

Do You Offer Alterations?: We do not have an in-house seamstress, and do not offer alterations. We only offer a smaller variety of specific bridal dresses (not bridesmaid or any other wedding attire) and the majority of our brides travel a distance to us, so it is not currently viable. We can recommend a local seamstress in North Devon if you are locally based. It is important to pre-book a seamstress in advance, and choose a professional that is easy to travel to for your fittings and has good, solid reviews in bridal wear. 

Where are you located? - we are tucked away in a beautiful building in central Barnstaple. Easy parking facilities are available across the road. 

Guest Designers & Trunk Shows? we often have trunk shows and guest designers, which is an awesome opportunity to try-on a range of styles we do not normally have. If you would like to know more, or interested in booking, pop us an email and we will give you all the deets!
